Renaissance

Art produced in the period between 14th and 16th centuries. Considered to emerge in Italy around 1400 AD, alongside changes in music, literature, science, technology and philosophy. Renaissance art was inspired by the art of Classical Antiquity, which was transformed under the influence of contemporary art of Northern Europe and scientific developments of the time. As a result, it lead to development of new techniques and artistic sensibilities.
